RIT English Class 210-Literature, Culture, Media

  1. RIT's English 210 class studied Climate Fiction Fall '21.  As a final assignment, they responded to Amanda Gorman's Prompt for the Planet.  These thoughtful and powerful responses remind us that climate change is a reality.  How this story ends is up to us.

Science fiction often takes us to places with weird environments, including future Earths. In recent years, sci-fi and fantasy works have begun directly addressing the crises of climate change and the uncertain prospects for human life on an altered planet. Our interest will be in the literary representation of changes for the planet and how human relationships to the planet are treated.
